About
Two-thirds of Minnesotans are exhausted with conflict and division and looking for something different, according to a More in Common report.
Minnesota: Land of Neighbors invites you to see what we share. This campaign kicks off with statewide listening sessions, where neighbors will share a meal, talk honestly about what matters to them, listen to others, and explore what action might look like together.
To begin, we encourage you to attend a listening session, follow us and share feedback on social media, and sign up for email alerts on our website. When the listening sessions wrap up, we’ll have a better idea of what Minnesotans want next, and we will follow up with those opportunities.
Meet the
Advisory Board
We will not assume to know what Minnesotans value, and we can’t do this work alone. Advisors from different communities, backgrounds, experiences and regions are helping to guide this so it accurately reflects Minnesota.
Meet the Neighbors Team
The Neighbors Team is a group of four organizations: Civic Bridgers, Braver Angels, Common Ground USA and Media Minefield. These groups have come together to facilitate conversations and give Minnesotans space to speak honestly about what matters to them, listen to others and explore what action might look like together.
Meet Our Generous Funders
Foundations across our state recognized that many Minnesotans are exhausted with conflict and feeling like everything is divisive. They believe Minnesotans want to connect with their neighbors, they just need a way in. These foundations teamed up to create pathways and open doors to see what we share.
The Bush Foundation got its start in 1953 by Archibald (Archie) and Edyth Bush. Archie grew up in Granite Falls, Minnesota, and started his career as a bookkeeper with a small company based in Duluth that he helped grow into the multinational company we know as 3M. The Bush Foundation's purpose is to inspire and support people to come together and address community challenges in creative ways.
The Little Falls-based Initiative Foundation invests in the people and places of Central Minnesota to build local economies and communities where everyone prospers, participates and belongs.
The Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation partners with thousands of donors, nonprofit organizations and community members to help us meet our aspiration: An equitable, just and vibrant Minnesota where all people and communities thrive.
Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies supports efforts to enhance quality of life and prevent and relieve suffering of children, families, and older adults; preserve and promote the environment and the arts; and encourage the humane treatment of animals.
West Central Initiative believes bold ideas grow best when rooted in community and that lasting prosperity depends on connection, collaboration, and care for the places we call home. For four decades, WCIF has worked alongside the people of White Earth Nation and west central Minnesota to shape a stronger region.
The McKnight Foundation, a family foundation based in Minneapolis, advances a more just, creative, and abundant future where people and planet thrive.
