Land of Neighbors is a campaign to create space for Minnesotans to speak honestly about what matters to them, listen to others and explore what action might look like together. Connection starts close to home – in our communities, schools, workplaces and congregations. It can grow throughout our state.

This is a multi-partner effort, as we know this requires a range of experience, background and capabilities.
The Neighbors Team is a group of four organizations: Civic Bridgers, Braver Angels, Common Ground USA and Media Minefield. These groups have come together to facilitate conversations and give Minnesotans space to speak honestly about what matters to them, listen to others and explore what action might look like together.
Our funders include The Bush Foundation, the Saint Paul and Minnesota Foundation, West Central Initiative, Initiative Foundation, Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies and the McKnight Foundation.
The advisors are a group of people from different communities, backgrounds, experiences and regions who are helping to guide this so it accurately reflects Minnesota. Find a full list of our advisors here.

The ultimate goal is to create something better for the people and communities we care about, and demonstrate that even in a divided time, we can see what we share. That starts by creating space for Minnesotans to speak honestly about what matters to them, listen to others and explore what action might look like together. Where this goes next will be rooted in that feedback and guidance.

Two-thirds of Minnesotans are exhausted with conflict and feeling like everything is divisive, but many don’t know what to do. Land of Neighbors is a way for us to connect with our neighbors, creating pathways to see what we share.

Minnesotans have a history of showing up for each other. We may not agree on everything, but many of us desire more humanity in how we live together. It is important that everyone’s voices are heard to understand where we have common ground and how we can start to build trust together.
