This Listening Session is an opportunity for our neighbors at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities to imagine a stronger community and explore our shared strengths.
We’re seeking Minnesotans at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities from different backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints to speak honestly about what matters to them as neighbors and to listen to others. In this structured conversation, we will explore what actions we could take together to strengthen civic trust and solve challenges for the common good.
Co-sponsored by the Humphrey School, this Listening Session is one in a series that will be held around the state for a new statewide project, Minnesota: Land of Neighbors. Land of Neighbors is aimed at combating unhealthy divisiveness in Minnesota. Organized by Braver Angels Minnesota, Civic Bridgers, and Common Ground USA, the campaign is funded by a group of Minnesota foundations.
As part of its mission to educate, engage, and equip leaders, one of the Humphrey School’s guiding values is Constructive Dialogue — inclusion and dialogue across differences. Humphrey nurtures a culture and environment where everyone feels welcome and heard regardless of their perspectives, preparing students to lead across differences and bridge divides.
